Does anyone really like February? March holds promise of spring, and in January you're not yet so tired of winter. But February often gives you the worst of both worlds; surprising storms that drop a foot of too-quickly melting snow, which produces only mud and leaves behind the sandbar detritus of sander trucks.

What better way to break out of a late-winter funk than with a good event or two?

Check out the Events section of the website for a smorgasbord of climate-related events, including talks by two dynamic authors and speakers:

  • Bracken Hendricks on Feb 20 at MIT, talking about Apollo's Fire, his new book about developing a clean energy economy.
  • Lester Brown talking about his new book, Plan B 3.0—his roadmap for a sustainable economy—in Lexington on Sunday, Feb. 24th.

And since the winter blahs typically last well into March, shake them off by joining us at a Global Warming Cafe about MCAN's Low Carbon Living Program on March 9 in Boston, or at the March 15th "Environment 2008" Conference put on by the Toxics Action Center, Environment Massachusetts, and MCAN. (There are a LOT of other events in March to check out as well.)

So take in a few events guaranteed to educate and to revitalize your passion for the environment. And remember that spring is only a few short weeks away.
